We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Rowe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
I decided that I believed in my idea of Cheeky Kakes and no matter what obstacles I faced or how difficult it got I would keep going. I made a decision that even though the journey was not going to be easy, it was going to be worth it. All the sacrifice, dedication, hard work and love I was putting into this was going to lead me to success. I started telling myself “life is rigged in my favor”. It became the motto I live by.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Here at Cheeky Kakes we are helping people celebrate life through gifting. What sets us apart from the rest is that we are taking gift giving and making it an experience. With our over-the-top themed to perfection, useful gift ideas, we make gifting a Cheeky Kakes the true centerpiece of any event. We take useful products and present them in a unique and extraordinary way. Our gifts are truly as memorable as the moment. We are super excited for the opening of our retail experience. We can’t wait to let everyone into the magical world of Cheeky Kakes. This is not your typical retail store, we are creating an immersive art experience that invites our guests into a fun new world of gifting. As a gifting enthusiast, myself – I saw a need for something thoughtful and unique. Every gift that was available was generic and boring. I was looking for something exciting and unforgettable. I created my first kake for a friend and it rapidly expanded from there. Catching the attention of many celebrities and press, Cheeky Kakes is quickly becoming the go-to gift for anyone looking to step up there gifting game. Nothing that’s worth it is ever easy. Being a single mom while creating a business definitely has it challenges but I have learned so much through this experience. The most important lesson I’ve learned is that life is too short not to do what sets your soul on fire. You have to take a leap of faith weather you think you’re ready or not. I want the world to know that here at Cheeky Kakes we live for the excitement of celebrating life’s special moments with you. We put so much love and energy into our creations and we want to help you make someone smile…BUT please remember one thing… No, you can’t eat ’em!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The besties’ in town, we’re hitting the streets! We will for sure grab lots of yummy food at places like Nic’s on Beverly, Gracias Madre, Toca Madera, Fig and Olive, The Nice guy, Katana, Cleo, or Sushi Fumi. Maybe we will enjoy some afternoon brunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Sunset Marquis or the Mondrian. For great ambience and incredible views we will be sure to hit up places like Perch, Upstairs at the Ace Hotel, or Moon Shadows. My girl and I love a drink and have some laughs so Doheny Room or Harriettes Rooftop are on the list. If we want to take it old school and listen to some great live music, dance and do Karaoke; Breakroom 86 is a must. We will have to hit the beaches in Malibu, Laguna, or Leo Carrillo. These are some of my go-to spots. For a more relaxing, chill vibe we will go to a Shakti Sound Bath with Ana Netanel at the Wisdome. I love to workout so a yoga or pilates class at Set n Flow Yoga is my favorite. We will definitely hit up some trails to hike like Fryman Canyon, Solstice Canyon or Mesa Peak. On a lazy Sunday we can be found at a farmers market or the Melrose Trading Post hunting for treasures.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be where I am today without the love and support of my friends and family. I call my crew, Team Cheeky and every single person on the team is so important to me . I’m a single mom so there is a lot of juggling between my kids and my business. I am forever grateful for the help from my mom, and my best friend, Mair. They have been with me through everything and I know I would not have made it this far without them. If I had to dedicate this article to one person, it would have to be my business partner, Nick. Since we joined forces, he has been by my side helping me build this company every step of the way. His belief and dedication to Cheeky Kakes has brought this dream of mine to reality. I feel so incredibly lucky to have him by my side. He is the best person I could ask for to be on this journey with. When our energy combines, we create magic!
